Dr. Sam Buchanan, DO, FACOS
Dr. Sam Buchanan wants to combine full mouth reconstruction with facial esthetics. He completed numerous Advanced facial esthetics training specializing in PRF and laser therapy to become certified in botox, injections, laser therapy, and PRF treatments. He became an official CARE Esthetics provider believing that the best treatment a patient can receive is one that comes as naturally as possible from the inside out.

Dr. Buchanan was born and raised in Fort Worth, TX. In 1972, he graduated from Texas Christian University, and in 1975, he finished his medical school at the University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNTHSC). Following graduation, Dr. Buchanan has had his residency in general surgery in Columbus, Ohio, and earned his board certification in 1985. In 1982, he decided to join UNTHSC as a clinical professor because he enjoys educating and mentoring other surgeons.
Currently, he is on staff at UNTHSC, Baylor All Saints Hospital, and Harris Hospital. Since 2016, he has been practicing facial esthetics. He has been able to treat various skin diseases using surgical and non-surgical procedures since 2014 up to this day. He has excellent chairside etiquette and is always willing to listen to his patients’ concerns. Dr. Buchanan always ensures that the treatment goal is entirely viable and achievable.
He loves to spend his free time with his four children, traveling, and having a relaxing time at home.
Dr. Shelby Nelson, DDS, MS
Dr. Shelby Nelson prefers to combine facial aesthetics alongside full mouth reconstruction. She became certified in botox, injections, laser, and PRF by completing various Advanced facial esthetics training specializing in PRF and laser therapy. She became a CARE Esthetics provider along with Dr. Sam Buchanan.

Dr. Shelby Nelson was born in Amarillo, Texas, and spent her early years in Plano, Texas. Following high school graduation, she attended St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas, where she obtained a degree in biochemistry. She spent three years in biotechnology before pursuing a career in dentistry.
She earned her dental degree from Baylor College of Dentistry in 2009 and completed her periodontics residency and master’s degree in oral biology in 2012.
Dr. Nelson is committed to teaching and encouraging her patients to take charge of their dental health. She remains one of Fort Worth’s most technologically advanced offices. She is board qualified and one of the few dental implant specialists who will insert ceramic (metal-free) implants and do all biological regeneration and bone grafting procedures.
Dr. Nelson spends her free time with her son Wyatt and volunteering to help children and animals.
