Hi! I’m Dr. Bernice Teplitsky, but you may refer to me as Dr. T. As you may have seen, my approach to dentistry is a little different from that of most general dentists. Dental problems have been linked to a variety of other medical concerns. As a holistic dentist, I am concerned with your overall health and well-being, not just your oral health. I emphasize preventative oral care to avert potential problems and collaborate with your physician or other practitioners to coordinate therapy to ensure that your entire body is cared for.
Since I was sixteen years old, I’ve worked in the dentistry business when I began my career as a dental assistant in Highland Park, Illinois. I earned a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science and a certificate in Gerontology from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (treatment of the aging population). I completed a general practice residency at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago after graduating from Marquette University’s School of Dentistry. Working in a hospital setting, specifically in the emergency and operating rooms, provided me with invaluable surgical expertise in dealing with highly complex patients. Additionally, it taught me how to work with my medical colleagues. As a result, I enjoy combining dentistry with Eastern and Western medicine branches.

I discovered holistic dentistry shortly after graduation and began visiting my dental colleagues around the country to learn how they practice holistic dentistry (also known as biological dentistry, nutritional dentistry, and integrative dentistry). I witnessed how they could cure patients with chronic conditions through the use of diet, biocompatible dental materials, and oral decontamination. I felt it was so unique to make individuals feel more bright, active, and disease-free as a result of dental health changes. I noticed that individuals who took care of their mouths were often healthier. Patients who concentrated on dental health began to see improvements in other areas of their health, body, and daily life. It became my goal to improve the health of all my patients through outstanding dental care.
